Deere & Company is a global manufacturer of farm machinery based in the United States. Deere entered the tractor manufacturing business in 1918 with the purchase of the Waterloo Gasoline Traction Engine Company in Waterloo, Iowa. In 1963, Deere became the largest tractor manufacturer in the world. Waterloo remains a major Deere production site, while the company now has manufacturing facilities throughout the world.
